ALAGOA WWTP - this is currently in operation and treats effluents from Alagoa. Taking into account the space available for implementation, the type of treatment currently existing and the state of conservation of the facilities, it is part of the remodelling of the installation, which essentially involves the construction of drying beds for dehydrating sludge and pumping stations for sludge and runoff, as well as the implementation of a stage for the physical-chemical removal of phosphorus. The Alagoa Wastewater Treatment Plant is sized, both hydraulically and in terms of process, to cope with a population equivalent of 1210 inhabitants.
CARREIRAS WWTP - this will treat effluent from the settlements of Carreiras and Cigano, which is currently being sent to a single septic tank to the south of the town, thus lacking the treatment capacity for the settlements to be served. It is sized, both in hydraulic and procedural terms, to cope with a population equivalent of 550 inhabitants.
FIGUEIRA E BARROS WWTP - will treat effluent from Figueira e Barros, which does not currently have the treatment capacity for the agglomerations it serves and is dimensioned, both in hydraulic and procedural terms, to cope with a population equivalent of 350 inhabitants.
VALONGO WWTP - located in the Municipality of Avis, it will treat effluents from the town in question, as well as serving neighbouring villages. This installation consists of a new construction, as there is no treatment infrastructure in the indicated location. The Valongo Wastewater Treatment Plant is dimensioned, both in hydraulic and procedural terms, to respond to a population equivalent of 300 inhabitants.
